Quick City
Ever wanted to make a city with as little clicks as possible, but also have the buildings random as well? This nodetree should be just what the doctor ordered.
Quick City is a nodetree that plugs into the Principled BSDF shader and turns any scene of boring cubes into a sprawling metropolis. The nodetree randomizes each building giving a number of useful parameters to make sure your buildings aren't totally bonkers. Using the masks that the nodetree outputs, you can add more variation and building types to make the city of your dreams, and fast!
Don't feel like you have to stop at basic cubes either! Quick City supports buildings from the most simple, to the most complex, even spaceships if you're feeling cheeky. The complexity of your city can go from simplistic with cubes, or a dense urban jungle when you use your own custom assets. When you're using simple buildings, it's better to use this for background assets, but nothing is stopping you from making it the focus with some buildings that really show it off! Just pop the material onto your building and get a bustling nightlife. Turn up the window scale setting and suddenly you have incredibly dense cyberpunk buildings! It even supports night and day, so you can turn the lights off, or control the density of how many windows are lit.
Included is a readme that explains all of the parameters, as well as gives tips on how to use the tree. If ever you need help or examples on how to use Quick City most effectively, feel free to send me an email at axiomwpdesign@gmail.com
